王磊,男,中共党员,入选中组部“****”,****,国家杰出青年基金获得者,享受国务院政府特殊津贴。1984年毕业于南开大学,1987年赴澳大利亚悉尼大学微生物系留学,1992年获博士学位,2001年回国。

现任南开大学党委常委、校长助理、泰达学院院长、国务院学位委员会第六、七届学科评议组生物学组成员、分子微生物学与技术教育部重点实验室主任、南开大学生物学学位评定分委员会主席和微生物学国家重点学科学术带头人、天津市功能基因组与生物芯片研究中心主任。

多年来,一直系统地进行肠道微生物遗传进化和多样性的研究,先后主持“艾滋病与病毒性肝炎传染病防治”科技重大专项、“863”项目和“国家自然科学基金重点项目”等重大科研项目20余项,在生物进化领域的一些基本问题的研究上取得了一系列具有国际前沿水平的创新成果。共在Nature、PNAS、Genome Biology和FEMS Microbiology Reviews等国际权威期刊发表SCI收录论文227篇,他引总计3608次,H因子33。成果获2007年“天津市自然科学一等奖”和“教育部高等学校十大科技进展奖”。获国际发明专利4项,国内发明专利105项。

2003年获 “天津市优秀留学人员”称号,2006年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才,同年还入选新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选,2005年、2007年两次获“天津市五一劳动奖”,2008年获“天津市杰出留学人员”称号,2009年获“全国模范教师”荣誉称号和“谈家桢生命科学创新奖”,2011年获“十一五”国家科技计划执行突出贡献奖,2014年获“天津市优秀科技工作者”称号。
