Research Interests
Multifunctional thin film and nanostructured materials have combined electrical, optical, piezoelectronic as well as dielectric properties. Epitaxial and polycrystalline growth of such materials are important for a verywide range of microelectronic and optoelectronic energy conversion devices application.Modulation of electical conductiveity of functional thin films from insulating to semiconducting and conductive can be realized by doping and forming multi-elements compound. Such wide range of electrical properties can be used as dielectrics, electrical active channel layer in TFT and transparentelectrodematerialsforsolar cell and displays. In addition, low temperature synthesis of functional thin films on cheap substrates is currently indispensible for developing flexible and bendable next-generation display and electronic paper displays. Multifunctional materials have unique responsive properties under different external and internal physical potentials, such as stress, optical and magnetic fields. Design and study of these optoelectronic, piezoelectronic and piezophototronic effects are very interesting for novel functional device applications.

《Materials Science of Thin Films》,graduate course, Fall semester,teaching in English
This course focuses on tetrahedron relationships of processing-structure-properties-performance in metals, semiconductors, ceramics and other compound thin film materials. The course covers:
Structure, bonding and properties of bulk solids; thermodynamics and kinetics of atomic motion in materials. Physical and chemical vapor deposition of thin film materials. Ion-surface interactions and plasma/ion beam processing of thin films. Nucleation and grain structure development of single crystal, polycrystalline and amorphous films. Epitaxy of compound semiconductor thin films for optoelectronic and information storage devices. Characterization techniques of thin films and surfaces.

李远洁博士,西安交通大学电子与信息工程学院副教授,博士生导师。主要研究方向为氧化物半导体功能薄膜与纳米结构的生长、半导体掺杂及机理研究;基于氧化物的透明柔性薄膜晶体管在新型显示技术中的应用;发光二极管固态照明技术应用及在无机/有机太阳能电池器件中的应用。在Appl. Phys. Lett., J. Appl. Phys., Semicond. Sci. Technol., Thin Solid Films, Appl. Surf. Sci., J.Electron. Mater.等期刊中共发表论文30余篇。主持国家自然科学基金1项、西安-应用材料(Applied Materials)创新基金1项、教育部博士点新教师基金1项、教育部留学回国人员科研启动基金1项、西安交通大学基础科研基金(自由探索类和综合交叉类)各1项。

科学研究 - 李 远洁研究领域
方向I: 物理气相沉积法制备多功能氧化物薄膜材料与性能的应用研究
多功能氧化物薄膜在光电子、能源转换、新一代显示技术和传感器等领域有着非常重要的应用前景。利用物理气相沉积技术研究功能氧化物薄膜的工艺与性能之间的相互关系,利用先进的结构、电输运、光学、化学键价结构和微观组织系统表征氧化物薄膜性能。研究氧化物薄膜在具有光电、磁电和压电等多耦合效应的功能器件中的应用。
方向II: 非晶氧化物半导体薄膜(InGaZnO),由于具有独特的电子结构而拥有高于非晶硅一个数量级的载流子迁移率,同时能够在低温条件下进行大面积性能均匀的薄膜生长,主要应用于高性能的透明/柔性薄膜晶体管器件,成为新型柔性显示器和电子纸显示驱动的关键性器件。

《光电半导体材料科学与技术》,秋季学期。
该课程包括了传统和当今研究热点的III-V,II-VI族和氧化物半导体薄膜材料外延生长、物性表征技术及光电子器件应用,具体课程内容包括:
1.薄膜外延生长技术:分子束外延,物理气相沉积技术(磁控溅射、脉冲激光沉积技术),半导体单晶制备技术;
2.物理性能(晶体结构、发光、导电、半导体掺杂、表面形貌等)表征技术;
3.半导体器件应用:半导体光电子器件和光电转换器件(发光二极管,激光二极管,薄膜太阳能电池等),异质结结构,超晶格和量子阱结构;
4.半导体材料与器件前沿研究进展与开发。
