曾华强课题组在人工跨膜输运体的构筑和功能开发方面最主要的贡献如下:
1.大一统化的人工离子通道:创新性的构筑了一类可精准识别金属离子结构高度可调的五元环大环系统;以唯一通讯作者发表了5篇J. Am. Chem. Soc.和1篇Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.


2.人工水通道:(1)创新性的在短的螺旋分子两端引入“粘性基团”用以驱动形成带空腔可让水选择性通过的纳米管(Chem. Sci. 2012, 3, 2042; J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2014, 136, 14270;Acc. Chem. Res. 2016, 49, 922;J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2020, 142, 10050; Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2020, 59, 13328)。(2)最近开发出的第二代人工水通道纳米管在保持高选择性的同时将水的通透性提高到水通道蛋白的2.5倍以上,为目前性能最好的海水反渗透膜了流速的8000倍,解决了人工水通道亟需解决的关键应用技术问题(Nature Nanotech., 已接收)。此类工作在有机功能超分子领域引起了国内外广泛的关注。尚未发表的第三代人工水通道纳米管在保持高选择性的同时将水的通透性提高到海水反渗透膜了流速的3万倍。


3.具有高选择性的人工离子通道:(1)将人工钾离子跨膜通道的钾/纳选择性提高到了16.3(J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2017, 139, 12338;Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2020, 59, 1440-1444),是从1982年第一篇离子通道论文的发表到至今的一个较大的突破。(2)开辟了可从液相选择性直接精准定制跨膜输运选择性的先河,解决了本领域40年来悬而未决的重大难题(J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2020, 142, 21082)。(3)具有高选择性的人工负离子通道:(J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2018, 140, 8817和Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2020, 59, 4806)。


4.全新跨膜输运机理:创新性的开发出了两类基于分子机器的人工跨膜运输体—分子秋千(Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2019, 58, 8034)和分子渔夫(J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2019, 141, 9788),为抗癌新药的研发开创了一个崭新的方向。

2011年10月,入选自然化学(Nature Chemistry,IF = 21.687)的Sceptical Chymist(指勇于推翻经典认知的怀疑派化学家)


2012年5月,受邀为美国化学会的化学和化工新闻杂志(Chemical & Engineering News)为发表在J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2012, 134, 8384上的人工水通道做新闻评述。


2013年,被化学主流期刊化学通讯(Chemical Communications)选为2013年度的"Emerging Investigators" (2013年共遴选出80多个研究小组,见Chem. Commun. 2013, 49, 4127)。
