主要研究方向为功能纳米荧光探针的设计、制备及其用于活细胞与活体的检测成像与治疗。在Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Chem. Sci., Anal. Chem., Chem. Commun., Chem. Eur. J.等杂志上发表SCI论文50余篇,影响因子大于5.0的40余篇,其中四色纳米荧光探针用于肿瘤细胞中多种肿瘤标志物同时检测与成像的工作发表后,引起了国内外****的广泛关注,美国化学会Chemical & Engineering News以“Four-Color Nanoprobe Could Increase Accuracy Of Cancer Detection”为题对该工作进行了专访和报道,高度评价了此研究工作。主持和完成国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家自然科学基金青年基金、山东省自然科学基金青年基金等国家级和省部级项目。
