课程内容简介(英文) In the market economic environment, the efficiency and benefit of a company heavily depended on the organization and usage of resource. The KPI-cost, quality, speed, flexibility and creation-not only reflect the result of operation management, but also what we need to transfer the value of the products to customer. This course is to provide the students with the principle understanding of the operation management, of which the production is the core. After the course, the students are expected to understand the theory and methods of organization design, operation planning and controlling. At the same time, the students are exposed to the updated theory and practice in operation management, so they could possess the ability to analyze and solve the practice problem.The operation management is an important, the earliest and most active part in the business administration. In recent years, there are many changes in the economic environment: the service industry increases its value in society; the horizontal division of work leads to the increase of outsourcing, and the globalization of economy result in the globalization of production and sourcing. All these changes reflect on this course. Based on these products, the content of this course includes the following 4 parts:1, Process Analysis and System DesignThis part mainly analyzes the characteristic of all kinds of products and organization as well as the design method. The students are expected to understand the operation management's role in the business and its relationship with the other business activities. Besides, through many case studies, the students study to analyze and solve the practice problems.2 The Planning and Controlling of the System Operation From the logistics and information's view, this part analyzes the rule of the enterprise operation. It also introduces the method of planning and controlling based on the demand and supply theory. The students are expected to understand the controlling method of inventory management, the method of manufacturing planning, and manufacturing capacity and balance analysis through case studies. 3, The Theory and Practice of Advanced Management Theory This part introduces several advanced operation management theory and method such as MRP/ERP, lean production/JIT, OPT, TOC and supply chain management. 4 Analysis and Improvement of Operation System This part introduces how to analyze and evaluate the operation system. It introduce several KPI and the application method. Business Process Reengineering (BPR), continuous improvement and operation consulting are also introduced. |
