- Distribution of zeros of polynomials and entire functions (Hurwitz polynomials and entire functions, Polya frequency generating functions)
- Orthogonal polynomials (asyptotics, random matrices, Rieman-Hilbert problem, logarithmic potential theory, Pade approximations, continued fractions)
- Spectral theory (spectral graph theory, inverse problems, total positivity)
- Hydrodynamic stability and bifurcation theory
- Filter design
