Prof.Yellen'sresearchgroupinvestigatesprogrammabletechniquesformanipulatingcolloidalparticleswithpotentialapplicationsinelectronic,photonic,andbiomedicaldevices.Themainfocusofhisgroupistheinvestigationofcomplexinteractionsbetweenmicrometerandnanometersizedcolloidalparticlesandmagneticrecordingmediacommonlyusedinthedatastorageindustry.Hiscurrentreseachinterestscanbesub-dividedintothreemainareas:Concentrationgradientsinmixedcolloidalparticlesuspensions.Theoreticalandexperimentaltechniquesareusedtostudytheformationofconcentrationgradientsinmixedsuspensionsofmagneticandnonmagneticparticles.Controllingthealignmentofnanorods.Theoreticalandexperimentalinvestigationsareusedtostudythecontrollabilityofnanorodalignmentininhmogeneousmagneticfield.Transportofcolloidalparticlesintravelingperiodicpotentialenergylandscapes.Themovementofmagneticmicro-beadsinatravelingmagneticfieldwavegeneratednearthesurfaceofamicro-fluidicdeviceisinvestigatedforapplicationsinbiologicalseparation.

上海交大密西根学院副教授、博士生导师。但亚平博士于1999年获西安交通大学学士学位、2002年获清华大学硕士学位、2008年获美国宾夕法尼亚大学博士学位。博士毕业后，在美国哈佛大学任博士后和博士后研究员，2012年5月加入上海交大密西根学院，先后获美国国家科学院（NationalAcademies）颁发的博士后研究员奖和国家“****（青年组）”等多项奖励。

吴继刚，博士，清华大学物理系2001年本科毕业，2004年硕士毕业，于2008年获得美国加州理工学院电气工程博士，之后留校任博士后学者和研究工程师。2011年加入上海交大密西根学院任助理教授（AssistantProfessor），博士生导师。长期从事生物医学成像与生物光子学研究，包括光学相干层析（OpticalCoherenceTomography），光流体显微镜（OptofluidicMicroscopy），和宽视场显微镜成像技术等。

2000:清华大学,学士学位,电子工程系。2006:南加州大学,博士学位,电气工程系。2006-2008:哈佛大学,博士后,工程与应用科学学院。2009:哈佛大学,researchassociate,工程与应用科学学院。2009至今:上海交通大学,研究员/博士生导师,密西根学院副教授(tenuretrack)。研究领域为纳米技术与光电子学。提出并演示了世界首个边发射光子晶体纳米腔激光器，及其与光子晶体波导的背靠背耦合。这项工作使光子晶体高密度集成线路的研究向前跨进一大步，成为世界著名的光电子学杂志《LaserFocusWorld》2007年终回顾收录的重大成果之一。此外，首次实现了多种量子点微纳激光器，并开发了用于快速高效单分子DNA检测的微流体纳米近场光学器件。研究成果被国际著名杂志和期刊多次报道及选作封面。受邀为多家国际一流期刊审稿。2009年获得教育部新世纪优秀人才计划支持。2010年获得上海市浦江人才计划支持。研究组主页http://yanglab.sjtu.edu.cn。
