研究方向计算生物学，比较基因组学，拓扑学。
研究工作研究领域主要包括生物学数据分析的模式识别算法，深入研究了从调控DNA序列中发掘前调控模块的算法及其复杂度。另外，还提出了一个从基因组中（包括部分非编码RNA）提取模式片段的高效搜索算法。目前的研究方向为数据分析方法在拓扑蛋白质组学中的应用；根据MELK技术产生的图像数据，研究相关的分割和比对算法。
