四、课程设置(见表)
五、论文工作
1.硕士生按要求修满课程学分后,可申请进入论文课题研究,但在开题报告前应递交相关的综述报告。
2.开题报告一般在第二学年第一学期进行,选题应根据专业特点,着重选择对于本专业的基础研究或经济建设有理论或应用价值的研究课题。课题要有先进性,并尽量结合国家、部委和上海市的科研任务选题。硕士学位论文开题报告及学位论文的内容应参照《上海大学硕士研究生论文工作的有关规定》执行。
3.在论文中期进行阶段检查。由研究生报告阶段工作成果、存在问题和对策。中期检查应参照《上海大学硕士研究生论文工作的有关规定》执行。
4.本专业的毕业生在论文答辩前必须达到《上海大学研究生授予学位科研成果量化指标》的要求。
5.强调导师对论文的审查制度以及学术委员会对学位论文的预答辩制度。
6.规范学位论文答辩制度以及学位授予程序。

1. Objective of the Program
1.1 The graduates are expected to do the following: tomaster Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory; to adhere to CPC fundamental political line; to have a great affection for our motherland; to follow disciplines and obey laws; to have good moralities; to be rigorous in study style; to be enterprising and ambitious; to be devoted to the cause he/she aspires; to actively participate socialist modernization drive.
1.2 The graduates should take an active part in physical exercises and have a good physique.
1.3 This program’s main interest is the frontiers in chemistry. It aims to foster students' competence in organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and analytical chemistry and experimental skills. They will be proficient in a foreign language and chemical literatures, and become excellent talents who should be competent in undertaking independent research in chemistry.

5. Scientific research and thesis
First, the thesis-related research could only be conducted with the completion of required credit points. The thesis-related literature summary is essential.
Second, Report of pre-thesis should be provided before the first term of the second academic year. The thesis should focus on the theme with fundamental research or applied research promoting the national economic development in light of the characteristics of the speciality. It's well advisable to incorporate the scientific undertakings of various levels. The pre-thesis report and the thesis content should conform to "SU Regulations Governing Graduate Thesis".
Third, an intermediate stage check-up will be conducted for the work progress and performance of the project. Mid-term assessment should conform to "SU Regulations Governing Graduate Thesis".
Fourth, graduates in the speciality are needed to meet the requirements as specified in "Targets in Terms of Scientific Results for SU Graduate's Conferment of Academic Titles".
Fifth, the thesis should be checked by supervisor before the submission for defense and the pre-defense should be held by the academic committee.
Sixth, the defense and the academic degree-related assessment should regularized to "SU Regulations Governing Graduate Thesis".
