QingchunChen received his B.Sc degree and his M.Sc degreewith honor in Automatic Control, Pattern Recognition and IntelligentControl from Chongqing University, P.R. China, in 1994 and 1997,respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in TransportationInformation Engineering and Control from Southwest JiaotongUniversity, P.R. China in 2004. He was with Jimei Maritime University(Now Jimei University) from 1997 to 1998, and Shenzhen High-Tech Park(HTP) Telecommunication Company from 1998 to 1999. He joinedSouthwest Jiaotong University since 2004 as an associate professorand then as a full professor since 2009. He visited City University ofHong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology asresearch fellow and research associate in 2004 and 2005,respectively. From 2009-2010, he visited Harvard University withprof. Vahid Tarokh sponsored by CSC (China Scholarship Council). Dr.Chen received the excellent Ph.D. dissertation award by SWJTU andSichuan Province in 2004 and 2005, respectively. In 2006, he was therecipient of the Program for New Century Excellent Talent inUniversity, Ministry of Education, P.R. China. He was also therecipient of Fok Ying Tong selected research funding for OutstandingYoung Teacher in Colleges and Universities in 2005. He was enlistedas the candidate of Sichuan Outstanding Youth Science Foundationsince 2009. Research work led by Dr. Qingchun Chen was supported bythe Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Ministry ofEducation (MOE) of China, the Sichuan Province, and some industrialfunding. Qingchun Chen has authored and coauthored over 60 researchpapers, two book chapters and contributed to 9 Chinese patents indifferent techniques for wireless systems. He is the co-recipient ofone excellent paper award from IET CCWMC 2009.
