RESEARCH INTERESTS
Increasing evidence indicates that further exploration of protein quality controlsystemis critical for understandingthe basicmechanismunderlyingneurodegenerative disorders including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,Parkinson’sdiseaseandAlzheimer’sdisease.The goal of our studies is todescribehowprotein quality control systems,includingautophagy-lysosomepathwayand ubiquitin-proteasome system,fail toprotectneuronsat disease stages.To this end, we will use cell biology, molecular biology, biochemical approaches and genetic manipulation of animal modelsto investigate the relationship between protein quality controlsystemandneurodegeneration.
