南京江豚保护协会理事、南京师范大学“青蓝工程”优秀青年骨干教师。2007年南京师范大学工作至今；2014.12-2015.12美国国家海洋与大气管理局NOAA西南渔业科学中心和美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校访问****；2015美国东太平洋大型鲸类考察CLAW-leg4专家组成员。
从事鲸豚种群生态学、保护生物学和毒理生态学研究。特别关注的物种包括布氏鲸、长江江豚和中华白海豚。具体研究方向：社会网络结构、最适栖息地预测、人类活动对鲸豚干扰、有毒污染物在食物链中的传递、营养级、种群密度、家域、分布和迁移模式等。
主持国家自然科学基金、教育部博士点基金、江苏省科技厅、江苏省教育厅和香港海洋公园保育基金等课题10余项，发表SCI论文20余篇。评价工程建设对鲸豚及其栖息地环境影响，并建立南京长江江豚水下声学监测系统。
