高分子微结构的光谱学研究

高分子体系在微纳尺度上的形貌结构对其性能具有重要意义,微纳尺度相区的组成和结构是高分子研究从合成到性能之间承上启下、不可或缺的必要环节。红外光谱是表征聚合物化学组成和微结构的强大方法,能够提供丰富的材料结构组成信息,是我们的主要研究手段。尤其是最近出现的原子力红外(AFM-IR)技术,将红外光谱仪和原子力显微镜结合起来,利用样品吸收红外光后产生的光热诱导共振,以原子力探针检测红外吸收响应信号,从而使红外光谱的空间分辨率突破了光学衍射极限的限制,达到~50纳米水平,因此也被称为纳米红外,我们在国内率先开展了纳米红外应用技术研究。

原位红外光谱方法研究聚丁烯结构的形成和演化

聚丁烯性能优异,但在通常加工条件下只形成亚稳态的晶型II,随后缓慢相转变、导致制品扭曲变形。我们往聚丁烯中混入少量聚丙烯,发现用冷结晶的方法能够直接形成稳定的I’晶型;通过原位红外实时跟踪体系的结构演化,提出了受限成核的机理。

纳米红外光谱研究聚合物复杂体系

高抗冲聚丙烯(HIPP)是一种用途广泛的橡胶增韧合金,其性能与橡胶粒子的结构组成密切相关,一般认为其硬核是结晶聚乙烯。我们在国际上首次建立了纳米红外的定量方法,实现了复杂聚合物体系纳米相区组成的定量分析(Anal. Chem. 2016, 88, 4926)。这一成果发表后引起了国际同行的关注和好评。引领纳米红外技术的Anasys Instruments认为这是纳米红外技术领域的新突破,在其网站上作为News和High Impact Research予以介绍;随后中国科学院网站在“科研进展”栏目专文介绍了这项工作。应用这个方法,我们发现硬核的主要成分也可能是聚丙烯,并揭示了粒子内部的微结构,为聚丙烯合金设计的优化提供理论指导。

智能表面

利用组装技术构筑智能表面是当前的研究热点,人们尝试了许多方法,但往往比较复杂,或只适用于特定基底。而静电组装恰好具有简单易行、适用于各种不同材质基底的优点。我们利用静电组装膜中存在的过量电荷及其抗衡离子,在不同基底表面组装多层膜后通过离子交换方法实现了材料表面润湿性的快速、可逆调控(Chem. Commun. 2008, 5972)。应用这个方法可以方便地修饰材料,使其具有类似荷叶表面的超疏水自清洁性质(Soft Matter 2009, 5, 2072),或者类似玫瑰花瓣的粘性超疏水性质(Langmuir 2011, 27, 15299),也可以制备润湿性从超亲水至超疏水可调的动态响应性智能表面(Langmuir 2010, 26, 12203),以及从超亲至超疏的梯度润湿性表面(ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2014,6, 1729),还有能够在空气和海水中都能抗油污的表面等(ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2013,5, 6400)。此外我们还研究具有抗冰、抗雾、耐磨、自修复、自润滑、油水分离等功能的涂层。

  

功能复合薄膜

纳米粒子在催化、抗菌、光电转换、微量物质检测、传感器、示踪等方面具有巨大的应用前景。在实际应用中往往需要将其固定在载体中以防止聚集、保持活性。我们以静电组装膜作为载体和纳米反应器,利用膜中存在的过量电荷及其抗衡离子,通过抗衡离子交换和原位反应制备负载纳米粒子的功能性复合薄膜,纳米粒子的尺寸和含量可调、结构可控(Langmuir 2009, 25, 12355);制备的多层膜负载铂纳米粒子具有优良的催化特性,可望用于甲醇燃料电池(J. Mater. Chem. 2011, 21, 11783);具有核壳结构的纳米粒子及合金粒子显示了协同催化效应,优于单金属粒子(Adv. Mater. 2012, 24, 4574;Langmuir 2014, 30, 15345);合成的空心纳米粒子的表面等离子共振吸收位于近红外区,在光热治疗方面具有应用前景(Langmuir2013,29, 6722)。

功能型生物纳米材料

如何利用材料表面化学及拓扑结构调控细胞的生物学行为是生物材料领域的关键科学问题。迄今基于化学合成或组装技术的解决方案依然面临巨大的挑战,而通过自然进化选择出来的植物病毒以蛋白质组装成高度紧密排列的三维纳米结构,是天然的生物材料构筑单元。我们以植物病毒这种生物纳米粒子构建组成明确、拓扑有序的表面,揭示材料与细胞的相互作用机制、构建新型生物功能材料。(1)通过化学和基因工程的方法对病毒纳米颗粒进行修饰,获得具有不同表面功能基团的纳米结构单元;(2)在二维平面及三维管状体系下,发展一系列调控生物纳米粒子组装排列的新方法,构筑大范围、多层次、长程有序的图案化结构表面;(3)以生物纳米粒子形成的图案化基底诱导细胞的生长行为,实现对细胞生长行为的可控调节。
