Biography
Dr K.H. Loo received the B.Eng. (Hons.) in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Sheffield, U.K., in 1999 and 2002, respectively. From 2002 to 2004, he was the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ehime University, Japan. He later joined a local lighting company in Hong Kong as an electronic engineer and later as an engineering manager. In 2006, he joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and he is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering. His areas of research interest include power electronics and renewable energy systems. He has co-authored one US patent and two pending China patents on LED driving technology, and 60 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, reviewer for various international journals and conferences, and committee member for a number of international conferences.
