Biography Dr. Wong Siu Hong Dexter received a B.Eng degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2015 where he worked on fabrication and application of micro/nano-optical-patterned structures to regulate cell mechanics. He further received the Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from CUHK in 2019 and focused his doctoral study on the harnessing cell receptor-ligand interactions via tunable nanostructures to regulate stem cell and macrophages behaviour. After graduation, he continued as research assistant in the same group to utilize well-defined nanoplatforms and hydrogel matrix to study the enrichment and the growth of cancer stem-like cells as well as T cell immunotherapy. He joined PolyU as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering since 2020. Dr. Wong’s research focuses on novel nanomaterial and nano-composite hydrogel to investigate the nano-bio interface and harness ligand-receptor interaction for cellular mechanotransduction, tissue engineering, and immunotherapy. He has published over 20 journal papers with first- and co-authorships including Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Biomaterials, etc. Moreover, he is also interested in exploring nanoprobes for imaging, sensing, and therapy in the current study.
