Tak Lee is a former professor in SD who retired in 2017. During his more than 20 years of service in PolyU, he had held several important roles. Of which, he was an associate director/ associate dean (2006 – 2015) who was responsible for outreach to external collaborators. He has extensive experience in automotive and product design. He also has track record of engaging in a wide range of research and consultancy projects for global corporates. His research focus are related to Strategic Design and has worked on many successful cases between design-industry collaboration in Hong Kong and the region. Previously, he was partnering with a number of mainland manufacturers on some long-term projects, as well as providing strategic consultancy for several creative parks in China. Lee’s understanding and experience of connecting the University to design industries in HK and GBA by approaching design through emphasising the integration of theories and practices. Currently, he devotes more time to support and mentor local start-up companies in the area of health, AI and robotic technology.
