This project involved the setting up of the Teachers of English Language Education Centre (TELEC) and a wide-area computer network called Teachers of English Language Education Nexus (TeleNex) to provide professional support to English teachers in Hong Kong. This is a departmental project which aimed to provide to a rich experience for student teachers during their practicum in partnership with schools. Chinese as a Medium of Instruction Centre (CMI Centre) (1998 - 2003) (Principal-investigator)

This project involved settingup a computer network and conducting workshops to provide professional support to all teachers in schools adopting Chinese medium of instruction in response to government mandated mother-tongue education policy implemented in 1998. The application and effectiveness of computer-mediated communication (CMC) in the professional development of English Language teachers in secondary schools in Hong Kong. (Principal investigator) (Sept 1994-Aug 1998)

This research project investigated the effect of participation in CMC, specifically TeleNex, on the subject knowledge, teaching competence and confidence of secondary school English teachers in Hong Kong.
