Dr Cobb is a field archaeologist, a ceramics specialist, and a digital humanist. Archaeology studies human life, communications, and development through the material remains of the past. Dr Cobbleads fieldwork in Southwest Asia (the Ancient Near East) each summer and also participates in a project in Laos. His information science research engages withthe recording and analysis of multi-modal data about the past, including 3d spatial and morphologicalmodeling.
I am looking for PhD and MPhilstudents and Post-doctoral researchersto join our research project in digital archaeologyand our fieldwork - particularly students with computer programming backgrounds but also anyone interested in studying the past and learning digital methods.
