Lennon is an Associate Professor of Real Estate Economics and Finance at The University of Hong Kong. His principal research interests are in institutional analysis and urban studies. He held visiting faculty positions at the Law School and the Booth School of Business at The University of Chicago, and the Centre for New Institutional Social Sciences at the Washington University in St. Louis. Lennon has published in the Journal of Law & Economics, Habitat International, Land Use Policy, Cities and Urban Studies etc. Lennon is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Housing and the Built Environment, and a co-guest-editor of two special issues of Habitat International.
Lennon has played active consultative and advisory roles in the society.? He had served various committees under the Development Bureau, and the Food and Health Bureau of the HKSAR Government, Estate Agents Authority, Vocational Training Council and the General Practice Divisional Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors etc.? He is an external examiner of many urban development related programmes from sub-degree (Open University, HKU SPACE) to degree (PolyU SPEED) and Ph.D. (local and overseas) levels.? Lennon was an entrepreneur and inventor; he had won one gold and two silver medals in the International Exhibition of Invention, Geneva.? Other notable awards to Lennon include the Senior Fulbright Scholarship by the US Department of State, Ronald Coase Prize by the International Society for New Institutional Economics, Li Ka Shing Prize by The University of Hong Kong, and naming of a City Hero by the HKSAR Government.
