Biography
Dr. Zhang received his B.Eng. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology (2014), and his Ph.D. degree from University of Toronto (2019). He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in University of Toronto, and joined the Chinese University of Hongkong, Shenzhen as an Assistant Professor in May 2021. Dr. Zhang’s research interests include micro-robotics, medical robotics, and biomedical instrumentation with applications for assisted reproductive medicine. His work is currently under clinical trials in multiple hospitals in Toronto, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Changsha. His research has been recognized by both the robotics society and clinical reproductive medicine society by winning multiple best paper awards, including the Best Paper in Automation Award from the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2019), IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RAL) Honorable Mention Award in 2019, and the First Prize for Technical Achievement Award from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM 2020).
