BiographyCurrently serving as the Managing Partner of QBN Capital, Frank is a high-tech investor but with rich experiences in technologies and entrepreneurship. He has served as senior executives at HSBC, ASTRI, Hisense, Archcom, and SAE Magnetics. He started his career as a laser physicist at IBM Research, a professor at the CUHK Information Engineering Department, and led a spinoff from ASTRI which was acquired by SAE, a wholly owned subsidiary of TDK. While serving as the CEO of ASTRI, he has shifted his interests to FinTech, and joined HSBC as the Global Head of Innovation and Strategic Investments after his full term.
Frank has a wide range of experiences ranging from R&D, product design, production, marketing, management, merger and acquisition, to corporate venture capital. He has also served as a board member and senior advisor to ASTRI, Lucent Technologies, and engineering faculty of local universities. Frank has a long-time cross-cultural working experiences in North America, Europe and Mainland China. He also runs the Tong's Charity Foundation.
