BiographyDr. Yu grew up and received her education in Hong Kong. After she obtained her Ph.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she continued as a postdoctoral fellow there. In 2016, she moved to Singapore and worked as a research fellow at the National University of Singapore before joining the Department as an assistant professor in 2019.
Research Interests/AreasDr. Yu's primary research interest lies in theoretical and computational condensed matter physics. She also collaborates closely with experimentalists. Current focuses include
quantum phase transitions in quantum many-body systems
non-equilibrium phases of matter such as the discrete-time crystal
Fermi surfaces and electronic properties in superconductors and topological materials
application of machine learning in condensed matter physics
