随着交通行业向智能化、安全性高、低能耗等方向的发展,功能材料及器件在交通领域的应用发挥着日益重要作用,既可为路面提供传感、警示、调控等智能器件,又可以为运输工具等提供隔热、隔声、防雾防冰等新功能。我们的研究以高寒地区为应用环境,以道路、交通标志、车辆为应用载体,从材料和微结构的角度出发,研制新型功能材料并致力于功能材料在交通及建筑领域的应用。

研究领域
聚合物基传感器及在混凝土路面的应用针对路面内部力学及物理化学等环境,提出了路面新型传感器材料所具有的低成本、使用寿命长、承力能力强、化学性质稳定的特点,我们设计开发了聚合物基新型传感器材料,利用导电聚合物基传感器所具有的力敏特性以及低成本、变形能力强、耐久性高等特点,并结合新型传感器材料在混凝土路面上的应用研究,实现路面的结构损伤和车辆载荷的监测功能。

光热智能调控材料及安全警示材料通过胶体晶体模板辅助法等手段制备具有三维有序大孔、纳米孔、分级孔等微结构的热控涂层,有效提高了光热调控材料在可见光、红外波段的光学调控性能,从而获得安全警示、防眩镜、热控等功能。

超疏水材料用于路面高耐久、易除冰性研究混凝土表面和内部构筑超疏水表面,制备超疏水混凝土,以此解决北方寒地混凝土吸水后导致的冻融破坏、表面难除冰、表面生物生长破坏和内部金属构件腐蚀等问题。

柔性储能材料及交通领域应用随着智能交通的发展,小型便携式电器、清洁汽车等也飞速发展。我们旨在设计低成本、柔性、高性能的储能材料,基于碳纳米管与一维活性纳米材料的互穿网络结构,实现储能电器在交通领域的应用。

讲授课程
1. 表面物理化学

本课程是道路桥梁与渡河工程专业硕士生的选修课,内容涉及材料科学中有关表面界面的基础理论和普遍规律,内容包括表面张力与表面自由能、拉普拉斯方程、润湿、吸附等基本概念、基本理论和基本现象;以及表面改性、表面活性剂和表面研究方法等。通过这一课程,使学生在掌握表面物理化学的科学理论基础上,可以理论结合实际,分析阐明材料研究过程的表面界面现象。

2. 材料科学基础

本课程是以材料的结构状态为启发点,从微观的原子结构、晶体结构、高聚物结构出发直至介观/宏观的非均质复合结构,详细介绍晶体结构、固溶体、非晶态固体等在内的全部内容;其次,结合固体材料的基本理论,深入讨论了固体材料中的质点运动与迁移、固体材料物理基础的内容,包含了材料内质点运动与电子运动的基本规律及基础理论;最后,在固体材料结构与内部原子/分子运动特点的基础上,介绍了典型材料的宏观性能,如力学性能和界面化学性能等。

OverviewAdvanced functional materials and devices are playing increasing role with the development of transportation system with intelligence, high safety and low energy consumption. Smart devices such as sensors, safety warning, controlling are provided for roads/bridges, but also demonstrate novel characters (thermal/acoustic insulation, anti-icing/fogging) into the facilities due to the applications of functional materials. Our research contributes to the roads, safety markings and vehicles in the frigid zone. We are interested in the novel functional materials and their applications in transportation from the viewpoint of functional materials with micro-structures.

Research
Polymer-based sensors for concrete roadsWe developed polymer-based nanocomposite sensors for the structure health monitoring of concrete roads due to their low cost, high durability and excellent compatibility. The polymer-based sensors include flexible conductive composite and piezoelectric composites.
Optical/thermal control materials and applications in safety warningThree-dimensional ordered materials with the length scale on the order of the wavelength of visible or near-infrared light have the strong ability of optical/thermal modulation. Based on monodispersed microspheres, electrochromic or luminescent materials with ordered microstructures created through electrodeposition, sol-gel methods, demonstrated improved optical/thermal control performance.

Durable and anti-icing roads using superhydrophobic coatingsWe exploited a facile, low cost process using nanoparticles (NPs) for superhydrophobic or superamphiphobic coatings via one-step coating method. The concretes treated with superhydrophobic nanomaterials present highly improved durability, anti-icing and reinforcement corrosion-resistance. We also interest in the optimizing the process for robust superhydrophobic coating against water jetting, abrasion, et al.

Flexible energy storage materials and their applications in transportation systemEnergy storage materials including lithium ion batteries and supercapacitors have great potentials in hybrid energy vehicles, health monitoring and portable electronics. With the increasing interest of hybrid vehicles or portable devices in smart transportation system, flexible, inexpensive and high performance energy storage devices have been propelled. We proposed an interpenetrating network structure of carbon nanotubes and polyaniline nanoribbons for free-standing flexible electrodes or foldable paper-based electrodes.

Surface Physical ChemistryThe course of Surface Physical Chemistry is an elective course for master students in major of Roads, Bridges and River Cross Engineering. This course mainly introduce basic concepts, theories and phenomena of surfaces and interfaces to students, including surface tension, surface free energy, Laplace equation, wetting and adsorption, as well as the surface modification, surfactants and surface research methods. Through this course, students could learn the basic scientific theories of surface physical chemistry, then combine the theories with the practical problems, and clarify the surface/interface problems during the materials studying.

Fundamental of Materials ScienceThis course “Fundamentals of Materials Science” starts with the structure of material states, namely from the microscopic atomic structure, crystalline structure, polymer structure to the mesoscopic/macroscopic heterogeneous composite structure, including details of crystalline structure, solid solution, amorphous solids, et al; Secondly, based on the basic theory of solid materials, in-depth discussion of the particle motion and migration in solid materials, physical basis of solid materials are achieved, containing some basic laws and theories; Finally, on the basis of the characteristics of solid material structure and internal atomic / molecular motion, typical macroscopic properties of materials, such as mechanical properties and interfacial chemical properties are introduced.
