1998年获哈尔滨工业大学数学系学士学位
2003年获哈尔滨工业大学基础数学专业博士学位
2000年3月在哈尔滨工业大学数学系参加工作
2004年8月被评为副教授
2005年4月被选为硕士生导师
2008年8月至2009年8月在美国堪萨斯州立大学数学系访问研究
2011年4月被选为博士生导师
2011年12月被评为教授.
曾经讲授数学系本科生《近世代数》、《高等代数续》，数学系研究生《抽象代数》、《群论》以及英才班《代数与几何I》等代数课程；2008年8月至2009年8月在国家留学基金委资助下作为国家公派访问学者在美国堪萨斯州立大学数学系进修. 2005年被评为硕士生导师，已指导硕士研究生十余名，2011年被选为博士生导师，现指导及协助指导博士生共计3人. 现为德国《数学文摘》评论员，美国《数学评论》评论员以及美国数学学会会员. 主要研究领域为代数(矩阵代数、同调代数与代数K理论）及其在组合数学与动力系统的不变量问题上的应用；已在国内外知名SCI刊物上发表论文近20篇；曾作为主要成员参加完成两项国家自然科学基金项目，独立完成一项国家自然科学基金数学天元基金项目，作为项目负责人完成一项国家自然科学基金青年科学基金项目.

在导师游宏教授指导下完成的博士论文于2004 年被评为“哈尔滨工业大学优秀博士学位论文”.
学生刘柏英的本科毕业论文《Toric簇及其应用》获2007年华人数学家大会“新世界数学”大学生科研奖银奖.
在培养本科生科研能力方面有丰富的经验，经本人指导的多名学生论文被评为"校级优秀本科论文"，部分学生毕业后进入MIT, UMN, OSU等名校攻读博士学位。
