教育背景
1990年9月~1993年4月于武汉工业大学无机材料专业学习,获工学硕士学位。
2002年3月~2004年12月 于武汉理工大学攻读材料学博士学位(在职),获工学博士学位。
2004年2月-2004年6月 获国家留学基金委的资助于北京语言大学进修英语。

教学成果
曾获得“湖北省优秀研究生导师”称号;武汉理工大学“华为奖教金”。
指导的本科生有七名同学获得湖北省优秀学士论文奖;指导的研究生有四篇硕士学位论文、两篇博士学位论文获得湖北省优秀学位论文奖;另有四篇博士学位论文、九篇硕士学位论文获得校级优秀学位论文奖。

社会兼职
湖北省环境科学学会常务理事、武汉市环境科学学会理事、中国环境科学学会重金属污染防治专业委员会委员、中国复合材料学会矿物复合材料专委会委员、中国矿物岩石地球化学学会矿物岩石材料专业委员会委员、湖北省硅酸盐学会理事、湖北省化学化工学会环境化学化工专业委员会委员。

国家教育部新世纪优秀人才计划入选者。曾获湖北省优秀研究生导师称号。武汉市优秀学术带头人计划入选者
先后负责承担了包括国家自然科学基金、国家重点基础研究发展计划(973)子项、国家科技支撑计划子课题、教育部博士点基金及重点科技项目、武汉市科技攻关项目等多项国家、省部级以及企业合作课题。先后主持了二十余项企业和事业委托研发项目和大型工程设计,取得了良好的经济和社会效益。申请国家发明专利多项,已获授权发明专利19项。先后在Angew. Chem. Int. Ed以及J. Am. Chem. Soc.等国际著名学术期刊发表SCI收录论文150余篇,论文SCI他引近4000余次,H因子41。有先后19篇论文入选ESI高被引论文、6篇论文入选ESI热点论文, 6篇论文入选ESI前沿论文。培养的研究生,先后有两篇博士论文及四篇硕士论文获得湖北省优秀学位论文。现为“Angew. Chem. Int. Ed”、“Chemistry of Materials”、“Environmental Science & Technology”、“Applied Catalysis B: Environmental”、“ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces”、“Journal of Materials Chemistry A”、“Chemical Communications ”、“Small”、“Environmental Science: Nano”等120余种国际著名学术期刊论文评阅人。
