简历：

桂建芳，男， 1956年6月出生于湖北黄梅。1982年毕业于武汉大学细胞生物学专业，获学士学位；1984年毕业于武汉大学遗传学专业，获硕士学位；1995年在中国科学院水生生物研究所获理学博士学位。自1984年起，历任中国科学院水生生物研究所研究实习员、助理研究员、副研究员、研究员、博士生导师。曾于1991年至1994年在美国俄亥俄医学院和加州大学圣迭戈校区进行工作访问和博士后研究。1999年至2001年任中国科学院水生生物研究所常务副所长，2001年至2007年任所长；2001年至2011年任淡水生态与生物技术国家重点实验室主任。曾任农业部第八届科学技术委员会委员(2008-2013年)，中国海洋湖沼学会副理事长(2007-2017年)。现任中国水产学会副理事长，中国动物学会副理事长，中国动物学会和中国海洋湖沼学会鱼类学分会理事长，国家水产原良种审定委员会主任，淡水生态与生物技术国家重点实验室学术委员会主任，《水生生物学报》和Aquaculture and Fisheries主编；Gene, Science China Life Sciences，《中国科学生命科学》和《科学通报》编委等。2013年当选为中国科学院院士，2015年当选为发展中国家科学院院士。
长期从事鱼类遗传育种相关的发育遗传学基础和生物技术研究。系统研究多倍体银鲫的遗传基础和生殖机制，培育出有重大应用价值的银鲫养殖新品种；开拓出一条精准高效的基于X和Y性染色体连锁标记快速鉴别培育全雄鱼的性控育种技术路线。已主持或参与培育水产新品种4个，获授权发明专利10项，发表研究论文460多篇，其中SCI刊源论文270多篇，出版专著和研究生教材8部，论著被引用超万次，特别是2018年由Willey Blackwell出版的Aquaculture in China: Success Stories and Modern Trends被国际同行誉为新时代的水产养殖专著，“为更广阔的世界展示了中国这个卓越水产养殖超级大国的主要活力”。已培养毕业博士和硕士以及出站博后共100多位，毕业的博士中获中国科学院院长特别奖1名，优秀奖2名。
研究成果先后获国家自然科学奖二等奖(2011年)等10多项科技成果奖。1988年获中国青年科技奖，1994年获国家****科学基金资助，1995年获中国科学院青年科学家奖一等奖，1996年获香港求是科技基金会********奖，2009年获全国“五一劳动奖章”，2015年获全国先进工作者，2015年获何梁何利基金科学与技术进步奖，2015年获湖北省科技突出贡献奖等荣誉称号。
