1983年7月，广西农学院植保专业毕业，获学士学位；1988年7月，广西农学院昆虫学硕士研究生毕业，1988年9月在华南农业大学获农学硕士学位；2007年7月，华南农业大学农业昆虫与害虫防治专业博士研究生毕业并获农学博士学位。2002年9月至2003年9月在新西兰梅西大学进修天牛分类、系统发育及行为学。1988年8月-1993年5月在广西科学院生物研究所工作；1993年6月至今在广西大学农学院工作。
