Profile:Calvin Hau graduated from Calvin College with an Interdisciplinary Degree in Chinese, Japanese and History. He taught classes in the four main English skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) to impoverished students, as well as topics pertaining to China/Chinese culture to foreigners at Guizhou Forerunner College, a vocational school in Guizhou, China. Realizing that he can make teaching his career, he went to Trinity Western University, in the Vancouver area to begin earning his MA in TESOL in 2015. Calvin then completed an internship at Handong Global University, South Korea, where he taught and formed a strong bond with a class of English Pre-Course students. Afterwards, he taught English Reading and Writing classes and Foreign Culture courses to South Korean high school students at Chungnam Samsung Academy. There, Calvin guided students in group work and projects, which helped improve their communicative abilities. He expanded upon his Korean teaching experience through working at As Home Language Cafe, helping adult students improve their oral English abilities through forming bonds with instructors.


Calvin enjoys watching/playing sports, especially football/soccer, martial arts, movies, occasionally writing poetry, music and meeting new people. He looks to help students improve their communicative abilities for varying situations.
