主要从事生物医用材料研究领域的工作，研究涉及抗菌材料、纳米材料、高分子水凝胶、药物控/缓释载体系统等。目前主持国家自然科学基金青年项目1项，天津大学-福州大学自主创新基金1项，福建省自然科学基金面上项目1项。在ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces，Journal of Controlled Release，International Journal of Biological Macromolecules和Journal of Materials Chemistry B等期刊上发表SCI收录的论文多篇。以第一发明人获得国家知识产权局授权发明专利3项。
