溶剂化过程,广泛存在。
自然界中,绝大多数重要的化学反应甚至生物过程是在液相中进行的,特别是几乎所有生物大分子如蛋白质、核酸等生物学功能的发挥均依赖于温和的溶液环境,液相环境的存在对于自然界的存在和发展是最为重要的因素之一。液相过程中的一个重要环节就是分子与分子之间的相互作用,是液相中一切反应过程的基础。溶液中,溶质被溶剂分子包围的现象称为溶剂化,其中包括溶剂-溶剂分子间作用、以及溶剂-溶质分子间作用,即所谓溶剂化效应。具体的情形:溶质分子的正离子(或者激光诱导的激发态分子的偶极子)与极性溶剂分子的负电荷端、溶质分子的负离子与极性溶剂分子的正电荷端相互吸引,称为离子(诱导偶极)- 偶极作用。离子(诱导偶极)- 偶极作用是溶剂化的本质,一个离子可形成多个离子(偶极)- 偶极键,结果离子被溶剂化,被溶剂分子包围。特别是激发态的分子,分子被激光场极化由基态被激发到激发态形成新的偶极,极性的溶剂分子围绕极化的溶质分子运动,导致激发态分子回到基态的动力学过程发生变化。通过监控激发态分子的溶剂化过程,探测溶剂分子的微粘度、微极性等重要参数。此外,在质子型的溶剂中,溶剂化作用除了离子(偶极)-偶极作用外,往往还有氢键的作用等。与此同时,溶剂化过程不仅能改变反应物和产物的特点,而且也能改变化学反应的途径和过渡态,从而对反应体系的热力学、动力学和产物的选择性等很大的影响。因而,在溶剂协助的化学反应中,通过监控反应产物的动力学过程,就可以获得化学反应的相关途径的信息。
我们课题组长期以来主要利用和发展各种新型超快光谱技术研究液相中分子激发态过程中的溶剂化相关的化学反应动力学。研究内容主要包括荧光探针分子、光电功能超支化分子和生物功能分子等的溶剂相关的激发态动力学过程。我们把这些激发态的溶剂化效应统称为“溶剂化科学”(Solvation Sciences)。因此,更好的了解和探索这种“溶剂化科学”中的溶剂化过程对物理化学科学的发展有深远的意义,特别是帮助我们理解在光合作用或者人工合成的捕光天线中能量转移效率、光催化效率、生物大分子的结构与功能、环境污染等方面的基本科学问题有重要的指导作用。
主要研究内容:
(1)凝聚相复杂分子的激发态过程
(2)溶剂化动力学
包括:
1. 发展一系列飞秒-纳秒时间分辨瞬态光谱技术(比如:飞秒泵浦-探测、飞秒荧光上转换、TCSPC等),结合量子化学计算研究凝聚相中有机pi-共轭分子、生物大分子以及离子液体的激发态溶剂化、能量转移和电荷转移等过程。
2. 发展单分子光谱技术(比如:基于confocal 和TIRF的单分子光谱技术),研究凝聚相体系中pi-共轭分子内的激发态电荷转移和能量转移等过程。
3. 发展一系列新型光谱技术,包括:受激拉曼光谱技术(Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy),相干反斯托克斯拉曼光谱技术(Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy),基于飞秒脉冲整形相关的光谱技术等,研究激发态分子结构变化相关的能量转移和电荷转移动力学。

课题组承担科研项目包括:国家****科学基金、基金委仪器研制项目、基金委重点项目;参加973项目和中科院先导B专项等项目。

我们课题组主要针对“溶剂化科学”中的基本科学问题,集中研究具有推拉电子基团的超支化分子溶剂化、离子液体的溶剂化、和溶剂(包括水分子)分子对生物大分子的光动力学反应的调控机理。利用实验室发展的多种超快时间分辨光谱技术,以非均匀的受限分子结构体系(比如具有推拉电子基团的有机功能超支化分子体系、蛋白质和DNA等)体系为研究对象,系统研究非均匀体系中溶剂分子(有机溶剂和水)的溶剂化行为(包括溶剂化光物理过程和溶剂化光化学反应过程)的动力学。
我们期望为“溶剂化科学”在分子水平上对复杂分子体系与溶剂分子的相互作用机制进行探讨,研究溶剂分子对激发态衰变过程的竞争、化学反应的调控、量子过程的响应和反馈方式,建立相关溶剂化反应动力学模型,赋予表观性的溶剂化动力学信息更多的原理性内涵。
