However, the deep understanding of the crucial concept of "total disturbance" is largely missing. This missing link motivates the research in this paper. By systematically studying the problem of unobservable and/or mismatched disturbances, the difficulties of handling systems with multiple disturbances are illuminated. Via the conceptualization of the integrator chain and the total disturbance, an ADRC design is proposed to solve such challenge control problem and the corresponding performance analysis in whole time domain is presented. Moreover, the paper reveals that the integrator chain is the essential dynamics from the control input to the controlled variable. It is further demonstrated that the total disturbance, which corresponds to the integrator chain form and is the equivalent total effect caused by multiple disturbances, is definitely observable and matched. The effectiveness of the ADRC design is further illustrated by solving an industry benchmark problem associated with the nagging problem of vibrations. | | | |
