1991年7月毕业于南京工业大学建工系工业与民用建筑专业,获学士学位,1994年3月毕业于浙江大学建筑工程学院岩土工程专业,获硕士学位,2000年7月毕业于西安交通大学建筑工程与力学学院固体力学专业, 获博士学位。1994年3月至1996年3月在深圳市建设集团工作。2001年初至2005年底分别在新加坡南洋理工大学土木与环境工程学院和新加坡国立大学新加坡&麻省理工学院联盟从事博士后研究工作。2006年3月到浙江大学工作,同年7月被特评为教授,年底被聘为博士生导师。2003年获陕西省科学技术(自然科学类)一等奖一项, 2011年获国家自然科学二等奖一项,获教育部高校科技进步一等奖一项。与他人合作著有英文专著一部,由Springer出版社出版。主持或参与国内外项目十余项。发表论文70余篇,其中SCI论文40余篇,论文著作他引1500余次,其中SCI他引1000余次,第一作者非综述性论文单篇最高SCI他引近400余次。
