科学家们普遍认为突触可塑性是研究学习记忆的最佳细胞分子模型。30多年来的研究进展已充分证明突触可塑性参与了记忆的获取、巩固和提取。学习记忆涉及到大脑的许多区域和许多细胞分子过程,而突触可塑性是其中一部分,并不等于学习记忆。通俗地认为是学习记忆过程留下的痕迹。至今,突触可塑性是如何参与学习记忆仍然是个谜。许多工作需要系统地研究,如:突触可塑性是否可以传递?突触可塑性是如何参与应激、毒品成瘾等异常记忆?神经信息编码与突触可塑性的关系?这些内容也是本实验室研究的课题,如:国家杰出青年基金(突触可塑性在应激导致的大脑衰老中的作用)、科学院重要方向(心理依赖性与突触可塑性)。
