研究领域
(1)重要药用类群——重楼属的专著性研究
重楼属是一个具重要药用价值的植物类群,在我国有着悠久的药用历史,也是是 “云南白药”、“宫血宁”和“季德胜蛇药片”等著名商品药的主要原料。长期以来,重楼属的分类及系统发育一直存在诸多的问题和争论。针对这些问题和争论,采用分子系统学和系统发育基因组学等方面手段,对重楼属展开了全面的专著性研究。将重楼属划分为5个组,描述并发表了多个新分类群;发现种间杂交可能在重楼属的物种形成中发挥重要作用;提出了重楼属植物应在渐新世早期起源于东亚北纬35度附近地区,随着东亚季风气候的形成,逐步向南扩散并进入到中国的亚热带地区的假说。在此基础上综合形态学与分子证据,对重楼属植物进行了全面的分类修订。相关研究成果发表在Annals of Botany, BMC Plant Biology, Frontiers in Plant Science、Fitoterapia、Phytotaxa等期刊上。重楼属世界性专著“A Monograph of Paris (Melanthiaceae)”于2020年由国际知名学术出版机构Springer出版。
(2)"3E"植物类群的进化与保育
除了重楼属外,还对人参属Panax、三尖杉属Cephalotaxus、延龄草属Trillium、天门冬科Asparagaceae、水生被子植物等“3E”(economically important, endangered, endemic)植物类群开展了系统发育基因组学和比较基因组学研究,旨在对物种保护、资源开发、可持续利用提供理论依据。研究成果在Molecular Ecology Resources, Conservation Genetics Resources, Frontiers in Plant Science、BMC Plant Biology、Annals of Botany等期刊。
(3)植物分类学
专长于黑药花科、天门冬科、人参属等类群及水生被子植物分类、鉴定,熟悉植物学拉丁文和国际植物命名法规。对云南高原湖泊及湿地水生植物进行过系统的调查与采集,参与了《云南湿地》专著中水生植物部分的编写。多次参加高黎贡山、横断山等地区及苍山、大山包等国家级自然保护区生物多样性调查工作,采集并鉴定了大量的植物标本,有丰富的野外工作和组织大规模植物资源考察的经验。
(4)生物地理学
中国亚热带地区因保存了诸多的北极-第三纪孑遗成分(Arcto-Tertiary relicts,如珙桐、银杏、银杉等)而在植物区系特征上表现出显著的古特有性,这种古特有性何时开始形成?其发展与演化与东亚晚第三纪以来的气候变化(如晚第三纪全球变冷、东亚季风气候的形成、第四纪冰期)有何联系?这些问题迄今尚未得到圆满的解决。我们结合化石和分子证据,对水青树、珙桐等北极-第三纪孑遗植物的演化历史进行了分析,初步发现这些孑遗植物在第四纪冰期来临之前即已迁移到中国亚热带地区,表明该地区植物区系早在晚第三纪就形成了古特有性的雏形。阶段性成果发表在Journal of Biogeography、American Journal of Botany、Frontiers in Plant Science等期刊上。
