Profile

Anna Alsina Naudi (Dr. iur., University of Tübingen; M.A. in International Relations, San Francisco State University; Licenciada en derecho, University of Barcelona; Certificate in Legal and Business Translation, NYU; American Translators Association Certified Translator) specializes in law and language (legal discourse), community service-learning projects, economic and legal issues in Spain, as well as translation. In the Fall of 2011, she joined the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton, where she teaches courses at different levels in the Spanish Language Program and also a Legal and Commercial Spanish course. She previously taught Legal Spanish at the University of Tübingen.
In 2020 she published “Community Service-Learning Translations in a Legal Spanish Course”, in L2 Journal, and in 2018, “Endeavours towards a Plain Legal Language: The Case of Spanish in Context”, in International Journal of Legal Discourse 3 (2). In 2015 she published “A sociocultural way of thinking and doing: Spain’s irrational building policy”, Revista Liberia, Hispanic Journal of Cultural Criticism and in 2012 a book in Catalan on the current economic crisis in Spain and the bursting of the real estate bubble, El Desgavell Immobiliari a Catalunya: Qüestions econòmiques i problemes morals. She has also published a book on the effects of implementing European Law in Spain, Die Umsetzung des europ?ischen Zivilprozessrechts in Spanien (2005), and a German-Spanish dictionary of legal vocabulary, Grundwortschatz der Rechtssprache Deutsch/Spanisch (with Christian Cascante, 2003).
As Certified ATA Translator in Legal and Business English/Spanish, she has been working for the International Institute of St. Louis, Worldlogics, the International Institute of Connecticut, WaterStreet Translations, Geotext Translations, University of Minnesota, Princeton University and Harvard’s Law School.
