Profile
Nicola Trowbridge Cooney earned a joint B.A. in Afro-Portuguese and Brazilian Studies and French from King's College University of London and is an Associate of King's College. She earned her Ph.D. in Romance Languages from Harvard University.She directs the Portuguese language program as well as Princeton’s summer program in Lisbon, Portugal and is a Faculty Fellow and Adviser at Butler College. She teaches courses on the cultures and literatures of the Portuguese-speaking world. Her research interests include second-language acquisition, poetry, Luso-African literature and film and identity politics in the Luso-Afro-Asian-Brazilian sphere.
