Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Princeton Institute of Materials
We create, manipulate and characterize thin film materials and devices in the ultimate atomically thin limit. Materials systems of particular interest are van der Waals layered materials (e.g. transition metal chalcogenides, graphene) and complex oxides. Our research ranges from syntheses of thin film materials to electrical and optical characterizations of nanoscale devices, with implications for applications in transistors, light emitting devices and quantum information.
We are actively seeking motivated graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and undergraduate students to join our research group. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry or optics. Prior experience in nanomaterials growth, optical spectroscopies or nanofabrications is not required. Interested candidates should send a CV to Prof. Xie.
