Our primary objective is to accelerate and augment motor recovery after stroke. We study neuromodulatory approaches that enhance beneficial neuroplasticity, with particular focus on targeted physical therapies, noninvasive brain stimulation, and neuropharmacology. We simultaneously study the mechanisms underlying behavioral change using transcranial magnetic stimulation, movement kinematics, and machine-learning algorithms.
