Sarah Kerner, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist in the School-Based Mental Health Program at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and an Instructor of Clinical Psychology in the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Kerner specializes in the evaluation and treatment of a range of anxiety, mood, and disruptive behavior disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Kerner is trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents (IPT-A), and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT).Dr. Kerner received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). She received her MA in elementary education from Pace University and her BA in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her predoctoral internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), where she provided individual, group, and family outpatient therapy to children and adolescents in the Pediatric Psychiatry Department of Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.
Dr. Kerner is passionate about providing accessible, evidence-based interventions to youth and destigmatizing mental health in schools.
