Kimberly E. Kleinman, PsyD, is a senior psychologist and assistant professor within the department of Pediatric Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Kleinman also has a private practice in Westchester (Irvington), NY. Dr. Kleinman specializes in the evaluation and treatment of mood, anxiety and behavioral disorders in children, adolescents and young adults. Specifically, she provides intervention in evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy – Level One Trainer (PCIT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and hypnotherapy. Dr. Kleinman also offers group and individual based Parent Management Training, and family therapy emphasizing a family-based approach.In addition to providing evaluation and intervention, Dr. Kleinman works closely with families, schools and the Washington Heights community by combining her interests in well-being and positive psychology with behavior modification, preventative interventions and dissemination. Dr. Kleinman is the team lead for the grant funded Family Youth Development Program which offers a three-tiered model to prevention and intervention in under-served schools in New York City. Dr. Kleinman is also committed to the training of new clinicians and supervises doctoral-level clinical psychology trainees in evidence-based treatments.
