Dr. Shah graduated from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his psychiatry residency at Columbia University and served as chief resident in his final year. He was elected and served as the on the Board of Trustees of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) from 2014-2016. He was named a New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) Policy Scholar for his research on the implementation of integrated and collaborative care across the state. He has also written and presented nationally on physician depression and suicide.
