Dodi Meyer is a Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center and Attending Physician at Morgan Stanley New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia campus. Dr Meyer works in health disparities, community health and cultural competency. She has expertise in developing and sustaining community-academic partnerships for the purpose of training, service and research. With regard to training Dr Meyer’s main interest is, in creating and implementing ways of teaching and training both medical students and pediatric residents in the field, using Service Learning as the main educational methodology. As director of Community Pediatrics she oversees several population health initiatives that address major challenges to children’s health through the interlinking contexts of biology, family and community such as obesity, mental health, and early literacy.As a member of the Division of Child and Adolescent Health she sees patients and teaches residents and medical students at a community-based, hospital- affiliated practice in Washington Heights.

Research
Dr. Meyer has received research funding from Federal, State and City agencies as well as philanthropy and national foundations. Her area of research includes population health specifically initiatives that address major challenges to children's health through the interlinking context of biology, family and community such as obesity, early childhood literacy and development and mental health. Dr. Meyer has authored multiple papers, curricular materials, participated in a number of webinars and is active in national initiatives targeted at improving child health and well-being.Research Interests
