Dr. Kahe’s research is primarily in nutritional and environmental epidemiology, focusing on lifestyle, dietary and environmental factors in relation to women’s health. His research has been continuously funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH), including secondary data analysis and studies collecting new data with multidisciplinary approach.
Using data from a few large cohort studies, Dr. Kahe has led a number of NIH funded projects identifying modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and cognitive decline. As a co-investigator, he has been involved in several large national and international, epidemiological and clinical studies. In these studies, he has successfully administered and/or collaborated with other researchers from different institutes, and produced high quality peer-reviewed publications.
