Lizzy Oelsner graduated from Harvard College and worked at McKinsey and Company before completing her premedical coursework at New York University and obtaining her M.D. at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. During residency training in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, she began working with R Graham Barr on the genetic epidemiology of lung function in the Candidate-gene Association Resorce (CARe) project. As a fellow, she is ascertaining the incidence of chronic lower respiratory disease exacerbations in the Multiethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), and investigating causes and potential prediction models. Her interests include the integrative epidemiology of respiratory diseases, decision analysis, and health policy.
