Fabio Andrade is a film scholar, film critic, film programmer, and filmmaker. He is a PhD Candidate at the Cinema Studies Department at NYU, and holds an MFA in Screenwriting by Columbia University, with a CAPES/Fulbright fellowship. Between 2010-2017, he was editor-in-chief of the film magazine Cinética, and has published essays on film in publications by the Berlinale, the Criterion Collection, Kino Lorber, as well as many book chapters. He has also collaborated with filmmakers such as Thomas Elsaesser, Gabriel Mascaro, Eryk Rocha, Paula Gaitán, Maurilio Martins, Geraldo Sarno, among others, with films screened and awarded at festivals such as Sundance, Berlinale, Rotterdam, BFI London, and more. In December 2019, he co-programmed the series Veredas - A Generation of Brazilian Filmmakers, at Lincoln Center.?
