Galt Niederhoffer is a producer, novelist, and screenwriter.
Ms. Niederhoffer has produced over twenty indy films, twelve of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her films have won the Audience Award, and the Sundance Awards for Screenwriting, Directing and Cinematography. Niederhoffer’s films include The Kids are Alright (Frances Mcdormand, Annette Benning, Marc Ruffalo), Robot and Frank (Susan Sarandon, Frank Langella), Infinitely Polar Bear (Marc Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana), Grace is Gone (John Cusack), The Romantics (Anna Pacquin, Elijah Wood) and Lonesome Jim (Casey Affleck, Liv Tyler), among others.
Niederhoffer is an Executive Producer on two scripted dramatic series. Poison, based on Niederhoffer’s novel, is set up at Fx. Enjoy Your Meal, written by Amy Aniobi, is set up at HBO Max.
Niederhoffer has written four novels published by St. Martin’s Press, including Poison, A Taxonomy of Barnacles, and The Romantics. Her essays and op-eds have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vogue, New York Magazine, and Jezebel.
She has taught as an adjunct film professor in the Masters of Fine Arts programs at NYU Tisch and Columbia University.
Niederhoffer lives in Brooklyn NY with her three children.
