Jason LaRiviere recently received his PhD in the department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. His writing has appeared in?boundary 2,?e-flux,?The Brooklyn Rail, and the collection?Hands on Media History. He is currently working on a book project incorporating an archeology of data compression, the psychophysics of perceptual coding, and digital philosophy.
