Jay Deshpande is the author of?Love the Stranger?and?The Rest of the Body?(both from YesYes Books) and the chapbook?The Umbrian Sonnets?(PANK). His poems have appeared in?Best American Poetry 2021,?American Poetry Review,?New England Review, and elsewhere. He is the recipient of a Wallace Stegner fellowship, a Kundiman fellowship, and residencies at Civitella Ranieri and the Saltonstall Arts Colony. His essays have been published in?Slate,?The New Republic,?Guernica, and?The Guardian. He holds degrees from Harvard and Columbia.
