Katrina Dodson is a writer and a translator from Portuguese. Her translation of The Complete Stories by Clarice Lispector (New Directions, 2015) won the PEN Translation Prize and other awards. Her translation of Mário de Andrade's 1928 Brazilian modernist classic, Macunaíma: The Hero with No Character, will be published in April 2023 by New Directions and Fitzcarraldo (UK). She is currently adapting her Lispector translation journal into a book, and her writing has appeared in The Paris Review, The Believer, McSweeney’s, and elsewhere. Dodson has been a fellow of the Fulbright Program, National Endowment for the Arts, MacDowell Colony, and Banff Centre. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley.
