Lisa Milinazzo (Director/Playwright, Theatre, Film): Directing Award Nominations: Barbara Whitman Directing Award; Alan Schneider Freelance Directing award, Best Director Award, Origin Theatre 2019, Best Director & Best Ensemble, L.A. Weekly Awards. Lisa directed films for 3D Hamlet (a cinematic/theatre hybrid) featuring Alec Baldwin, Michael Emerson and Richard Easton (Irish Arts; Edinburgh). Her short film?The Query, played at Cannes & Garden State Film Festivals. She most recently directed a documentary on renowned Economist, Leo Hindery.
Lisa has directed American Premieres for such writers as Eve Ensler, Rebecca Lenkiewicz, and George F. Walker and has directed numerous world premieres, in New York, LA and the UK at such theatres as Connelly Theatre (with Marin Ireland), 59E59th Street, The Culture Project, Rattlestick Theatre, Urban Stages, Origin Theatre Company, 54 Below, Capital Repertory, Fundamental Theatre Project, HB Playwright’s Foundation (with Amy Wright), Alice’s 4th Floor and HERE. She is a frequent guest director for the elite Repertory Company of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She acted & directed with The Actors’ Space Repertory Company for several years, and was Assistant Director to artistic director, Alan Langdon.
She also teaches at NYU Graduate film School. Performance/lectures: Poland, Canada & in the US. Recipient: Van Ameringen Foundation Grant, Tisch Scholarship and US Rehabilitation Services Fellowship. BFA and Masters Degree in Deafness Rehabilitation, NYU.
